Workshops and Speaking
I lead workshops and small group conversations on leadership during times of transition, young women’s leadership, writing, creativity, and career design. With New Prosperity, I developed and co-facilitated such workshops as “Make Your Path By Walking It: Rethinking Careers for Social Change in the 21 Century” and “Social Media Meets Purpose” at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and See Jane Do’s Passion-Into-Action conference. Wisdom Exchange
Wisdom Exchange is an intergenerational collective of hosts and coaches who partner with individuals, organizations, and communities to focus on what matters, identify what works, and shed what no longer serves in order to create possibilities. Hosts Lina Cramer, Dick Durning, Janice Rous, and Lex Schroeder work with youth, families, educators, human service providers, community leaders, organizations, and businesses to strengthen their capacity for listening, foster understanding and build strong relationships, welcome diverse perspectives and ideas, utilize multiple intelligences, harness collective wisdom, and courageously take action. At the core of WE’s work is a belief in individual and community resilience and capacity for growth. Learn more.
The Writing Interviews
The Writing Interviews are short interviews with (mostly) Boston area writers on what they love about writing, what they’re writing/reading these days, and what they’re working on in their own writing. I’m interested in interviewing all different kinds of writers, writers famous and unfamous, published and unpublished, young and old. Read more.

From 2008-2012, I served as Co-Founder and Managing Editor of The New Prosperity Initiative (NPi). Why Not Boston
In early 2011, I collaborated with Jeanne Dasaro and Trish Fontanilla on Why Not Boston, a funny little web show about life in Boston. Each episode featured some combination of chats between Lex and Trish, special guests, music recommendations, trips to local businesses, “quick minute” interviews with audience members, and dance breaks. Some people called it improv news, others just called it a really good time. Watch episodes here!
