Lex is a strategy and ops/organizational effectiveness leader, lean coach, and communications expert in tech who helps organizations navigate the future of work. She got her start at The Lean Enterprise Institute (LEI) where she did co-learning action research on leading-edge companies with industry thought leaders on what it takes to transform large, complex organizations into learning organizations that understand how to flow value to customers. At LEI, she also served as founding editor of The Lean Post.
At Twitter, as a senior program manager on Twitter’s operational design and effectiveness team, she used lean thinking and practice to create a safer platform and help Twitter deliver on its original mission of advancing the public conversation. At Ryder System Inc., Lex led change enablement, continuous improvement, and internal communications initiatives to improve Ryder’s digital product development processes.
At other times in her career, Lex has served as director of strategy for a national nonprofit dedicated to gender parity in leadership and worked as a strategy and communications consultant for thought leaders and nonprofits. She is the editor of six books including Change Questions by D. Lynn Kelley with John Shook, Moving Money for Impact: a Guide to Gender Lens Investing by Tuti B. Scott; Transforming Leader Paradigms: Evolve from Blanket Solutions to Problem-Solving for Complexity by Jim Luckman and Olga Flory; and Follow the Learner: The Role of Leader in Creating a Lean Culture by Dr. Sami Bahri. Lex is a Senior Writer for Harvard Business School's Race, Gender and Equity Initiative and faculty at Modus Institute.
